Scope

This flagship project was completed over two phases, one in 2016 and one in 2017.  ADCO Contracting was contracted to refit the showroom offices and safely demolish an in-situ concrete frame within the showroom footprint. The second phase entailed the installation a curtain wall around the building façade, installation of a canopy around the perimeter of the building, the demolition of internal RC walls and floor slab.  Temporary steelworks was installed on a phased basis to stabilise the building as the demolition of the RC frame progressed.

Innovations

With the showroom remaining open to the public for trade for the duration of the works, we had to be sensitive to noise levels to avoid disruption. The client’s requirements were met satisfactorily and on time with the project being completed during opening hours and having no impact on day-to-day company operations.

Additional Information
Several key scope changes were made during the course of the project: a 300m2 plasterboard ceiling, toilet facilities and a change to the steel design for the existing canopy. All changes were incorporated into the original project programme and successfully delivered on time.
