ADCO Contracting are pleased to announce that we are entering our 10th year of successful certification for Health & Safety best-practice. Working with Safe-T-Cert, the Safety Management Accreditation System for the Construction Industry, ADCO Contracting secured Grade A re-certification in January for 2020.
What is Safe-T-Cert?
Safe-T-Cert is a certification scheme designed for certifying the Safety Management Systems of contractors working in the construction industry. The Scheme’s objective is to improve health and safety management by providing objective standards and certifying those contractors whose safety management systems have been assessed, and can demonstrate that they are:
- Inline with the ILO guidelines for Safety Management Systems
- Meet the requirements for training and competence
- Implement an occupational health and safety management system which meets the requirements of the organisation
- Incorporate continual improvement in the above
- Address relevant national legislation
- Demonstrates commitment at all levels within the organisation
What did ADCO Contracting have to do?
An onsite audit at our head-office in Dublin inspected our company documentation and physical compliance with regard our Health & Safety Management Systems benchmarked against Safe-T-Cert requirements. Having held the certification since 2011, the recertification process is designed to justify the ongoing accreditation. The certification also works to ensure ADCO Contracting are committed to Continual Improvement Process and improvement targets each year. The audit also included a visit to one of our client sites where both documentation and a physical health and safety inspection took place.
While the Safe-T-Cert is a robust process and requires recertification each year, it is an essential certification exercise for our business. We pride ourselves on our professionalism, attention to detail and our approach to health and safety management. Our flawless record helps differentiate us in the market and is a really valued by our clients and new projects. The certification also satisfies the health and safety suitability requirements for contractor organisations for public procurement in the Republic of Ireland and removes the requirement to provide additional information.
Ultimately certification demonstrates a real commitment by ADCO Contracting to health and safety risk management and the wider wellbeing of our workforce and those we interact with.
